Nitish Kumar is one of the most talked about politicians of India. Once he was seen as a leader who can challenge the hegemony of the BJP. Media used to present him as the face who can fight Narendra Modi in 2019. However, things have changed drastically after the breaking away of Mahagathbandhan.

Despite all this media attention that Nitish Kumar is garnering, it is really surprising that majority of people are not aware about his personal life. I have talked with many Biharis, and they also seem to have opinion based on rumors and hearsay.

Wife of Nitish Kumar

Nitish Kumar is a widower. His wife Late Manju Sinha died few years back. There are lots of misconceptions among people about the relationship of Nitish with his wife Manju Sinha. One thing is definitely true that Manju Sinha was a god fearing and hard working person. She continued to work and used to live on meager salary even when Nitish Kumar was Cabinet minister and then the Chief Minister of Bihar.

It is said that Manju Sinha never stayed at the CM house. However, I couldn’t find any reliable information about this fact.

Nitish Kumar was seen weeping bitterly after the death of Manju Sinha. He performed all rites at the funeral.

I have also seen memorials in Patna and at Kalyan Bigha that Nitish Kumar had made in the memory of Late Manju Sinha.

Son of Nitish Kumar

Nishant Kumar is the son of Nitish Kumar. Like his wife, there are lots of rumors going around about the relationship of Nitish with Nishant. People were saying that Nishant doesn’t stay with his father. However, he was clearly seen during the swearing in ceremony of Nitish Kumar at Gandhi Maidan. He was also quite optimistic about his father becoming the PM of India at some point of time.

Nishant is an engineering graduate. He is not doing any job. Currently, he is staying with Nitish Kumar along with wife and children.

Girlfriend of Nitish Kumar

There are some rumors about the relationship of Lalan Singh sisters with Nitish Kumar. As you might know, Lalan Singh is a trusted aid of Nitish Kumar. They are quite close. However, they have never been seen in public with their families.

It was Rabri Devi who had accused Nitish Kumar about this relationship. Lalan Singh had even filed a defamation case against Rabri Devi. It is laughable that Lalan Singh and Nitish Kumar do not have any problem with Rabri Devi at this moment.



There is not any reliable information available in the public domain about this relationship. I think this is another rumor which was propagated to malign the image of Nitish Kumar.
