Rose Water has
been added in various recipes throughout the world. It is one of the most
popular ingredients while you prepare ice cream, milk based deserts, pastries,
among others. It can also turn the taste in a positive way when added in
cooking vegetables. Rose water is widely used in the Indian subcontinent as an
ingredient in cooking.
Dabur Gulabari
is one of the most popular Rose Water products in the Indian subcontinent. The natural
question is – can one use Dabur Gulabari for cooking?
Dabur Gulabari and Cooking
Dabur is known
for producing 100 % herbal products. Its Gulabari is quite popular for offering
pure rose extracts in affordable prices. This is termed as premium rose water
by Dabur.
Dabur Gulabari
is generally marketed as a beauty product. It is intended to keep the facial
skin refresh and clean without using any harsh chemicals. It is supposed to be
used directly on the skin or even can be mixed with the face pack. In no time,
it gets rid of dirt, pollutants and other foreign objects that might have stuck
on the outer layer of the face. The natural freshness emanating from the skin
after using Gulabari is obvious.
However, one
should avoid the temptation of using it while cooking. This is a very big myth
in India that it can be used for cooking purposes. Actually, that can be quite
disastrous for the health in the long run.
Contrary to what
Dabur claims, it is not 100% rose water extracts. It contains other stuff also.
For example, it contains Propylene Glycol, which is approved by the FDA for
moisturizer purposes only. Using it for cooking can be problematic.
There are also
some acids and sometimes preservatives which are not suitable for eating.
Even Dabur has
to come out openly and publicly said that Gulabari should not be used for
cooking and must only be used as a cosmetic product.
There are many
other rose water products in the Indian market, which can be used for cooking.
Please see the indication which says that ‘safe for edible purposes’. Dabur has
also one product namely, Dabur Red Rose Water, which can be used for cooking –
Not Dabur Gulabari Premium Rose Water.
Similarly, users
should keep this fact in mind that Dabur Gulabari must not be used in the eyes.
I have seen many victims who have to bear with heavy itching and burning sensation
in eyes after they pour it directly into the eyes. They think that it will make
their eyes clean. On the contrary, repeatedly doing this can lower the eye
sight.
Dabur Gulabari
is a very good product, but only for cosmetic purpose. Please use it only
externally. It should not be used for cooking, or drinking or pouring into eyes
and ears.
