I was recently down with Typhoid. My blood test reports had also shown low hemoglobin count. After getting rid of typhoid with one week anti biotic treatment, doctor advised me to take Iron and Folic Acid supplement for 45 days. I bought the supplement which is one of the most selling products in its category. Unfortunately, I faced stomach issues just 2 – 3 days of taking iron supplement. There was severe problem of constipation and the colour of the stool had also turned black. It was not possible for me to take laxative daily. I decided to change the supplement altogether.
After discussing with some friends, I
went for Amway Nutrilite Tri-Iron Folic Acid. I got approval from my doctor
before switching to it. I am writing this personal opinion after completing the
course of 45 days and getting new blood reports. My haemoglobin level is at the
optimum level and I am also feeling better (particularly no fatigue and
tiredness after day long work). Needless to say, there has not been any case of
constipation after I started to take Nutrilite Tri-Iron Folic tablet. The colour
of the stool also didn’t change and remained normal.
Can a simple change in the brand of iron
and folic acid supplement make such a difference? Yes, it can, at least in my
case. I have seen many users of iron supplement being trapped in constipation
and digestive problem. My wife had taken Iron supplement during pregnancy
stages and her OBGyne had always prescribed digestive medicines, like enzyme.
The reason was simple – to keep off stomach issues and other similar side
effects of this supplement. This is, in fact, a very common problem.
The ingredient of Amway Nutrilite
Tri-Iron Folic is the biggest reason behind this difference. Anyone who has
used Amway should be aware of the fact that its entire category of product is
made of 100 percent natural products derived from organic means. Their iron
supplement is also no exception. Further, Nutrilite Tri-Iron Folic Acid comes
with Vitamin C (also organic). Vitamin C is known for helping in proper absorption
of iron and folic acid in the stomach. These might be the reason why I didn’t
face any stomach related problem after regularly taking it for more than 6
weeks.
My doctor had advised me to take one
tablet a day. This is the recommended dose and one should change it only after
getting consent from a doctor.
I had bought Nutrilite Tri-Iron Folic
from an Amway Business Associate for Rs. 800. There is no denying that this is
quite costly if we make a comparison with other products of this category available
in the market. But, I am completely satisfied with its performance and won’t
mind shelling out little bit more money for quality organic products.
One thing that I must mention here is a
simple test I did to check this product. I crushed the tablet of my old
supplement and Nutrilite Tri-Iron Folic in two plates. Then I took a small
magnet and bring it closer to the crushed content of both supplements. The
content of the old supplements got attracted towards the magnet. That didn’t
happen with Nutrilite. Anyone can do this simple test at home. This test proves
that the content of my previous iron supplement contains plain iron that is why
it was getting attracted towards magnet. While the ingredients of Nutrilite
Tri-Iron Folic doesn’t contain plain iron and there was no attraction. Taking
plain and polished iron directly will definitely result in constipation, black
stool and many more problems. In the long time, it can lead to many other
health issues. I would strongly advise everyone to do this simple test at home
before taking any Iron and Folic Acid supplement.
