Interesting Info: A sort of controversy was created when Aditya Varma alleged that Anukul Roy is older than 19 years of age and hence he was not eligible to play in the Under 19 World Cup team. As per his allegation, Amitabh Chaudhary, the Jharkhand stalwart, forced his entry into the national team. It should be noted that both Amitabh and Anukul Roy are Bhumihar by caste and hence this allegation has taken a casteist flavour in Bihar and Jharkhand. If it turns out to be true, then that would be a big setback for Team India.
