Amrapali was born on 4th November, 1982 in Hyderabad. Her father is a well – known personality of Telangana who had worked with Andhra University. He ensured the best possible education to all of his kids. But, for him, Amrapali was special. 

Amrapali wanted to become a software engineer. Her dream was to study Computer Science from IIT Madras. She cracked JEE, but couldn’t get Computer Science from IIT Madras. Rather than going for other institutes or RECs (NITs), she decided to take admission in her dream college with Civil Engineering. Now, this branch is not considered ideal for a girl. But, Amrapali has always been different. 

Amrapali cracked CAT during her final year of B. Tech. and joined IIM Bangalore for PGDM. After completing MBA, she joined ABN Amro.
Amrapali got disenchanted with her corporate life and decided to go for Civil Services. Her aim was to make direct impact in the lives of people. She cracked UPSC in her very first attempt and got Andhra Pradesh Cadre (she opted for Telangana after bifurcation).

Marriage and Family of Amrapali Kata

Amrapali Kata is dating a 2011 batch IPS officer, named Sameer Sharma. The couple was seeing since last few years. It is believed that Sameer will apply for change of cadre after marriage. He is currently serving in Diu (AGUMT Cadre).

Controversies of Amrapali Kata

Amrapali has also her share of controversies. When she booked entire movie theatre for her staffs, that act had become quite controversial. She had to defend her with some nuisance excuses.

Recently, Amrapali was seen laughing at the Republic Day function when she fumbled on a Telugu Word.
