Farah Khan was born and brought up in Delhi. She was a very good student from her school days. After completing schooling with credible scores, she took admission in Miranda House, Delhi University. During the course of graduation, she was thinking about preparing for UPSC Civil Services Examination. However, she changed the mind at the end of B.A and took admission in NDTV Worldwide Program for Journalism/IndiaCan.

Her first job was Newslaundry, an online independent News Portal. This news portal was started by Madhu Trehan (sister of India Today owner Aroon Purie and wife of world famous cardiologist and founder of Medanta Hospital Group Dr. Naresh Trehan). It is known for being a strict independent channel. It never shied away from criticizing news reporters and channels that are going against the ethics of journalism.
