Lucent's General Knowledge: Review

General Studies is an integral part of almost all competitive exams in India. The syllabus is so vast that aspirants always find it really tough to grasp the material completely. If you take a look at cut off marks, you will know how tough it is becoming for aspirants to crack this subject.

India is a vast and diverse country. It is not easy to make conceptual clarity and memorize facts about the entire Indian history, Geography, Polity and Economy, among others. It becomes really tough and aspirants look for material which contains everything sourced from standard text books.

Lucent’s General Knowledge is this type of book. It is really power packed with all information that may be asked in any competitive examination. If aspirants can prepare Current Affairs section on their own, this book will make their preparation complete.

If you are planning to read this book, always remember one fact that this book doesn’t offer conceptual clarity. You may not be able to understand the series of events. But, you will have all factual information that are sourced from standard text books at one place. You will not need to make notes for revision.

Lucent’s General Knowledge is perfect for Preliminary examination of all state Civil Services examination. Apart from that, it is also great for SSC, banking exam and various other exams where objective types questions are asked in General Studies.
This book may not help you to write long answers. It means, this book may not be helpful for Civil Services Main Examination.

I would highly recommend this book to all aspirants who are preparing for any competitive examination. Keep it and use it as a source material. You will not find any need to make notes in your register. You will save lots of time.

There is no denying that when it comes to revision, there is no competitor of Lucent’s General Knowledge. I would even recommend this book for revision purpose to those students who are preparing for UPSC Civil Services Examination.
